Getting started

How does an eSIM work?

An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your device — no physical card to insert. After you buy a plan, we email you a QR code and setup instructions. Scan the code, your eSIM installs in seconds, and your data activates automatically once you land in your destination.

How long does delivery and activation take?

Your eSIM QR code arrives by email within 60 seconds of completing checkout. Installation takes about 2 minutes. Most plans activate automatically the moment your device connects to a supported network at your destination — no manual activation needed.

Is my phone compatible with eSIM?

Most phones released since 2018 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later, and most Android flagships from Samsung, Google, and other major brands. Use our Compatibility Checker to confirm your exact model, or dial *#06# on your phone — if an EID number appears, your device supports eSIM.

Plans & coverage

What’s the difference between Regional, Global, and Unlimited plans?

Regional plans cover a group of neighboring countries (e.g. Europe, Gulf & Middle East) at lower rates, ideal for multi-country trips within one region. Global plans work across 124+ countries on a single eSIM, useful if your trip spans multiple regions. Unlimited plans give you uncapped data for a fixed period, best for heavy data users or longer stays.

Can I use my eSIM in more than one country?

Yes, if you’ve bought a Regional or Global plan — these cover multiple countries on one eSIM with no need to switch. Single-country plans are scoped to that country only; if your trip changes, you can buy an additional eSIM for the new destination.

Do I keep my regular phone number while using an eSIM?

Yes. Your eSIM adds a second, data-only line alongside your existing physical SIM or primary eSIM — your original number stays active for calls and texts on your home network (subject to your home carrier’s own roaming charges, which our eSIM doesn’t affect either way).

Data & usage

What happens when I run out of data?

You can check your remaining data anytime in your phone’s own cellular settings. If you’re running low, just buy another plan from the site — Unlimited plans have no data cap to run out of during their validity period.

Does the validity period start when I buy the eSIM or when I arrive?

Your plan’s validity period (e.g. 7, 15, or 30 days) starts when your eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, not at the moment of purchase. You can buy and install your eSIM in advance and it won’t start counting down until you actually land and connect.

Billing & support

What currency are prices shown in?

All prices on GetSimfinity are shown and charged in USD ($).

Can I get a refund if my eSIM doesn’t work?

See our Refund Policy for full details and eligibility. If you’re having connection trouble, contact us first — most issues are resolved with a quick fix rather than needing a refund.

My eSIM won’t connect — what should I check first?

Make sure mobile data and data roaming are turned on for the eSIM line in your phone’s settings, and that your device isn’t set to a different (physical SIM) line as the default for mobile data. Restarting your phone after installation also resolves most first-time connection issues. If it’s still not working, contact us with your device model and destination country.
